Total Signs Agreement to Acquire 25.4% Interest in AE Polysilicon

Motech Industries Inc. (TWO: 6244) announced its subsidiary, AE Polysilicon Corporation has signed a Stock Purchase Agreement with Total Gas & Power USA (SAS) to acquire a 25.4% interest in AEP. Motech’s interest in AEP will decrease to 33.3% subsequent to Total’s initial investment.

Motech Industries Inc, will introduce modules with high-performance cell technology at Intersolar in June

Vertically integrated solar products provider, Motech Industries Inc., announced today that it will introduce four new high-performance modules at Intersolar this June in Munich, Germany. The new IM60 and IM72 modules are powered by Motech's multicrystalline cells and range in power output from 235W up to 290W. Innovative XS60 and XS72 modules integrate Motech's 3-busbar, monocrystalline X-Cell technology which features unique texturing processes - improving light absorption and increasing average cell efficiencies up to 18.2%.

AE Polysilicon Successfully Deposits Silicon Using Advanced Fluidized Bed Reactors

Motech Industries Inc. announced its subsidiary, AE Polysilicon Corporation, has successfully deposited polysilicon in their proprietary commercial scale fluidized bed reactors (FBR) at its Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania site. This is a significant milestone for the demonstration of an advanced polysilicon technology which has the potential to significantly reduce the cost of manufacturing silicon ingots and wafers.

Motech Americas adds jobs as demand for solar modules grows

Motech Industries Inc. (TWO: 6244) announced the signing of a joint venture contract with Itogumi Construction Co., Ltd. According to the contract, the joint venture, Itogumi Motech Inc., acquired the module factory of Itogumi Lumber Co., Ltd., a related business of Itogumi Construction.

Itogumi Motech Inc., is located in Hokkaido, Japan. It currently employs 35 people and has 27MW/year solar module capacity.

Motech Industries Inc. today announced the appointment of Dr. Peng Heng Chang as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective March 31, 2010. Current Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Simon Y.H. Tsuo, will relinquish his CEO position and focus on his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Yung-Hui Tseng, vice Chairman and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, will relinquish his current position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

AE Polysilicon Awarded $44.85M U.S. Tax Credit
