Changes to the Management Board of SOLON SE – CFO Simone Prüfer to leave the company

Simone Prüfer, CFO of SOLON SE, has decided to step down from the Management Board effective August 31, 2010 for personal reasons. The Supervisory Board will take this occasion to restructure the Management Board both in terms of members and responsibilities. Chief Executive Officer Stefan Säuberlich will take on the CFO's responsibilities in the future.

SOLON SE on target to build the UK’s first solar power plant

SOLON SE has reached an agreement with the British project developer 35 Degrees Ltd, to build a 1.3 MWp solar power plant near Bissoe in Cornwall. Pending the necessary planning permits for the groundbreaking energy park, the power plant could be the first ground-mounted solar power plant ever built in the UK. The proposed agreement includes the planning, engineering, procurement and construction, for a turnkey delivery of the power plant to 35 Degrees Ltd.

SOLON and TEP bring 1.6 MW Solar Power Plant to Tucson

Tucson based SOLON Corporation, one of the largest crystalline silicon solar module manufacturers in the U.S. and provider of turnkey solar power plants, today announced an agreement with Tucson Electric Power Company (TEP) that will bring a 1.6 megawatt (MW) turnkey solar power plant to Tucson. Powered by SOLON systems and modules, the plant will provide a faster, more cost effective way for TEP to integrate solar power into its renewable energy portfolio for Tucson residents.

SOLON SE announces management buyout of Austrian subsidiary SOLON HILBER Technologie

As part of a management buyout, SOLON SE will spin off the core operations of its Austrian subsidiary SOLON HILBER Technologie GmbH (SHT). The majority of business operations will now be undertaken by the original founder, Franz Hilber, in a new company called HILBER SOLAR GmbH beginning on January 1, 2011. HILBER SOLAR will specialize in the manufacturing of newly-developed photovoltaic systems. The management buyout will secure more than 100 jobs at the Hilber group in Tyrol, Austria.

SOLON founds subsidiary in France

SOLON SE is banking on proximity to its customers and is stepping up its activities in France to react to the jump in demand. Beginning August 1, the company’s business in France will be managed in country: SOLON has founded its own subsidiary headquartered in Lyon. France is considered the market with the greatest potential for growth in photovoltaics and is fifth in Europe in solar power installed.

SOLON SE partners up with Australian solar product developer Bright Generation

SOLON SE and its Australian representative CBD Energy announce a new partnership with Bright Generation, an Australian start-up company. Bright Generation, based at Murdoch University is focused on developing innovative products that make it possible to use solar energy more cost-effectively. The two companies have agreed that, SOLON will deliver SOLON Black 130/04 solar modules to Bright Generation. Bright Generation will integrate them into their newly developed combinational product, SolarCombi.

SOLON SE's rights issue successfully completed

SOLON SE has successfully completed the rights issue for cash that it announced on June 8 this year. It issued the 4,694,836 new shares, which represent 37 percent of its share capital, at a price of €4.26 each.
