Southern California Edison (SCE), an Edison International company (NYSE:EIX), and SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB) announced today that SunPower has won a contract to provide solar technology for generating up to 200 megawatts, or 80 percent, of the solar power capacity needed for the utility's large solar photovoltaic installation program.

SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB) and K6 S.a.S. today announced an agreement under which the companies are building two 1-megawatt photovoltaic (PV) solar power plants in the Puglia region, Italy. The two plants are located in Casamassima and Conversano and will be complete by August 2010.

The clean, renewable solar power generated by the plants will provide electricity locally, and contribute to Italy's national electric grid.

SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB) announced today that, under a strategic supply agreement, Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) will order 32 megawatts of high-efficiency solar panels from SunPower in 2010. The SunPower panels will form the cornerstone of Toshiba's new residential solar offering in Japan, to be launched on April 1.

SunPower Solar Cells Exclusively Used to Power the Catamaran

At the HDW Shipyard, PlanetSolar unveiled the world's largest solar boat, which will be powered exclusively by high-efficiency solar cells from SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB), a manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels and solar systems. In late March, PlanetSolar will launch its catamaran for testing, and then embark on its round-the-world tour in early 2011.

CarbonFree Technology, Integrys Energy Services, Inc., and SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB) today announced the completion of Harvard University's first large rooftop solar power system. The 500-kilowatt SunPower system has been installed on the roof of one of the historic buildings that comprise the Arsenal on the Charles complex in Watertown, Mass., a former military installation purchased by Harvard in 2001.

Western Riverside County Regional Wastewater Authority (Authority), Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) and SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB) today dedicated a 1-megawatt solar power system at the West Riverside Wastewater Treatment Plant in Corona. SunPower designed and built the high-efficiency system, and financed the system with Wells Fargo through the $100 million sale leaseback program announced by the companies in June of 2009.
