About the Award
TÜV Rheinland STAR compares the evaluated organization to best-in-class practices. 5 Star rating is classified as ‘Best-in-Class’. Each star rating is associated with a certain risk assessment that varies from ‘highly recommended’ to ‘no improvement necessary for ‘best-in-class’ organizations. The rating system ensures that areas of risk are easily identified by the number of stars awarded. The TÜV Rheinland STAR rating measures the performance of an organization which is composed of best practices in several areas. One of the main pillars of sustainable performance is the systematic management approach the organization pursues in all areas of concern. At the same time, the supply chain - particularly the direct suppliers – should always be an integral part of these activities e.g. contractual obligations, monitoring mechanisms and joint improvement actions. In addition, the actual performance of the organization in the respective dimensions, plus its communication to the organization's stakeholders, whether internal or external, is evaluated.
