New Energy Systems and Scheuten Solar realise solar energy plant in the Netherlands

New Energy Systems, a photovoltaic system design and installation company, and Scheuten Solar, a global player in the area of photovoltaic solar module design, manufacture and installation, have been commissioned to build one of the Netherlands’ biggest PV facilities at 's-Hertogenbosch.

In 2010 the city of 's-Hertogenbosch will be putting up an entirely new waste processing centre at the Treurenburg in 's-Hertogenbosch. The city’s greatest ambition is to build the country’s most sustainable waste processing centre. In winter, delivered tree pruning waste will be burnt for building heating purposes and much of the electricity requirements will be generated by a dedicated solar energy plant on the roofs of the premises. The 1,500 solar panels with a total power output of 300 kWp will provide some 280,000 kWh of sustainable electricity every year.

“On our own we would not have been able us to land a project of this size” in the words of Peter Debije, co-proprietor of New Energy Systems. “Since industrial solar energy plants on this scale are rarely constructed in the Netherlands, few Dutch suppliers have the necessary experience in this area, so that the opportunity for us to work with Scheuten Solar is something very special for us”.

“Scheuten Solar and New Energy Systems have been working constructively together for some time now. Up until now our joint activity has been limited to small-scale projects. This project is big by Dutch standards and proves that we are also able to undertake industrial projects in our own country. We are very proud of the result achieved and trust that this will lead to more initiatives of this type in the Netherlands”, stated Rob Beckers, Scheuten Solar’s Sales Manager for the Netherlands.

New Energy Systems, established at Schimmert, provides an advisory, design, delivery and installation service for durable energy generating and energy consumption systems in residential and working environments. The company has made a name for itself in a very short time and has already successfully completed a range of major projects in both the private and the business market, as well as for government institutions.

Scheuten is a leading and fast growing international high volume manufacturer of total solutions in glass and solar energy systems with its head office in Venlo. Scheuten employs a staff of nearly 1800 and achieved a turnover of 467 million euro in 2008.

Scheuten Solar is a global player in designing, manufacturing and applying photovoltaic solar modules.
